Beef Lasagne Star Puff Pastry Wreath

Age range:  Suitable from 6 months

Yield:  1 large pastry wreath made up of 23 stars

Storage:  Not suitable for freezing

Ingredients:

2 Ready Rolled Puff Pastry Sheets

1 Little Freddie Beef Lasagna Pouch

1 Little Freddie Chicken Casserole Pouch

1 small egg, whisked for egg wash

Small handful of grated Parmesan or choice of cheese

Method:

  1. Pre-heat oven to 200 degrees Celsius and line a large baking tray with baking paper
  2. Using a pen or pencil, trace around a large dinner plate on your baking paper to trace the shape of your wreath
  3. Remove your pastry from the fridge 10 minutes before using to allow it to warm a little making it easier to unroll without cracking!
  4. Using your Beef Lasagna Little Freddie Pouch, squeeze it on half of your pastry and smooth it to the edges with a spoon
  5. Repeat with the Chicken Casserole Pouch on the remaining half
  6. Unroll your second sheet of pastry and place directly on top of the bottom half
  7. Using a knife, lightly mark down the pastry where the middle is to ensure your pouches won’t be mixed when cutting the stars out
  8. Using your star cutter, cut out roughly 23/24 stars (depending on the size of your cutter)
  9. Alternate your stars on the baking paper circle, overlapping the stars slightly
  10. Brush your wreath with the egg wash before topping with the grated Parmesan
  11. Place your wreath in the pre-heated oven for 15-17 minutes until golden brown and pastry is cooked (check underneath to ensure pastry isn’t raw!)
  12. Serve on a wooden board and let everyone dig in!
  13. Allow to cool slightly before serving, ENJOY!
