2014

What’s in a name?

Nothing says more about a product than its name, and for us the inspiration was clear: Piers and Tas’ son, Freddie.
It was when weaning Freddie that they realised baby food options were limited in supermarkets, and that parents who struggled with the time and effort needed to make homemade food day in day out, were forced to compromise on quality.
Piers and Tas are foodies, so they looked to their favourite homemade flavours for inspiration, and curated a range of truly exceptional baby food, full of deliciously nutritious ingredients.

2016

From farm to… highchair

During the early years of product development, Piers would visit every farm and supplier to source, test and develop our recipes.
This obsessive approach worked, as the high quality, organic ingredients which differentiated us from the non-organic products of this time still remain a core part of our brand today.
Our founders still taste test every recipe before production, making sure it meets the same high quality, deliciously tasty standards they set when Little Freddie was born.

2018

From baby steps to meaning business

Our UK business took flight when Sainsbury’s joined the Little Freddie gang back in 2018.
It was the first step we took in bringing our tasty, high-quality recipes to families across the UK, and our first real proof that we could offer the higher-quality weaning options parents deserved in a BIG way.
Each step we took was a building block in growing Little Freddie to where we are today.

2024

Can't stop, won't stop...

Our range grew to 33 organic recipes which offer families a genuine helping hand. You’d think we’d run out of ways to turn fruit and veg into something genuinely tasty, but we haven’t!
We’ve now won MULTIPLE awards, not just from the FMCG industry but from parents, too - parents who try our products and vote for us as the best solution for their needs. We love that. It keeps us wanting to do more.

2025

Still parent-run, still figuring it out on 4 hours sleep

Piers and Tas remain integral to our business, and our small but mighty London-based team continues to be both parent-led and parent-focused.
We love making baby food that people genuinely love, and take pride in the fact we get to play a part in making parents lives a little bit easier every day.
It's a whole lot of fun, with a whole lot of meaning.
