Pulses, like chickpeas, provide a valuable source protein, iron and fibre in the diet. It’s good to learn to love them from the start of the weaning journey. Combining them with a source of vitamin C, from fruit and vegetables, will increase iron absorption. Nuts and seeds should be included in the diet from 6 months of age, they provide a valuable source of antioxidants.
